Amazingly there really wasn’t much shopping – but I enjoyed plenty through December.
With so many additions in November, I didn’t really want, no NEED any more gin, I had so many to open and try, and I was running out of space in my little cabinet.

Ugh, these winter months really get to me, I’m just not a wintery person. I love putting on jumpers and boots, but give me sunshine, flip flops and sitting outside any day. We went to Nepal in October, and it took a few weeks to get over the jet lag, food and travelling, so October was quite a slow month for Team Couch, but November has definitely picked up! So what have we been up to and what have I added to the collection….

I decided in August to STOP buying gin just for a month. We had a lot on, and a gin festival coming up, so I thought, just don’t buy anything this month, hold off and enjoy some of the bottles sat on the shelf. The shelf had got to its fullest, with about 55 bottles, modest compared to some, but I am trying to have a sensible amount of a few favorites and then some guests. So, I finished off quite a few that had a drink or 2 in and the shelf has looks much more manageable.

July has been another busy month. Husband had a big birthday, so we had a party and went away for a night to The Pig in the New Forest, stopping of course somewhere gin related on the way. The month started though with a trip out with the Ruined Runners, to Chepstow to visit Silver Circles and enjoy a tasting. I finally got my ordered Blood Orange gin from Chew Valley, and did a spot as a Gin Judge. So, let me tell you more…..
Continue readingWell that was a busy month, taken me until the end of July to post this, but there has been a lot going on……
Mr C is going to be 60 this year – 60, I can’t believe it either and we always said we would only do Monaco when we can do it properly, on a yacht and being spoilt. Thanks to his work and a planned 6 week outage, plenty of overtime was completed in 2021, so we stashed the £ away and booked a trip to Monaco. Initially we planned to drive down, take in Champagne and a few other places, but in the end we booked flights to Pisa, returning from Nice and decided to enjoy the Italian coast via train. We also dumped the Yacht idea, and what a good idea that was.

I really tried to not to splash out on too much during May. We were away for a week, and rapidly approaching in June is #Junipalooza. We are then away again and I want to clear some shelf space to make room for some new bits. However….I did have a few additions.
April was another fun packed month despite Mr C being at work for a crazy amount of time, covering a planned outage. Rubbish that he isn’t home, but the overtime is nice and pays for lovely breaks away. Shopping wise, I lucked out on a few bargains, and grabbed a couple of treats.

Its been a while. Started a new job, and can’t do very much on the work lap top during the day, so have to plan all my browsing etc for evenings or lunch times when I can put on the home computer which is what I’ve done today! Have been trying to get this one posted for a few weeks, but just kept forgetting….so let me tell you what I bought in February and March….and what I got up to!

The plans started with a posh night away at The Newt in Somerset with Mr C for my 50th Birthday, with maybe a get together with family etc, and it kind of snowballed into a month of partying! I’m combining my gin additions into a diary of events – its just easier that way! Remember, no reviews, as many of the bottles I havent even opened as yet and I’m just not very good at it!
